Easy MATLAB CFD Simulation Tutorial — Flow Around a Cylinder
This tutorial model example illustrates how one can set up and solve computational fluid dynamics (CFD) problems both easily and quickly with the FEATool Multiphysics Toolbox (https://www.featool.com) for MATLAB and Octave.
This model example studies stationary and laminar flow around a cylindrical obstacle in a channel with Re=20. The computed pressure drop, and drag and lift coefficients are compared with established benchmark references to assert the accuracy of the simulation.
Although not features in this tutorial, in addition to the built-in stationary, non-linear, and transient flow solvers, FEATool also features built-in GUI interfaces for the FEniCS and OpenFOAM CFD solvers.
