Not Motivated on your job? Here’s why!
One of those simple truths that tell us that we might be wasting our time is our heart feeling that “I’m not motivated in my job”. This idea can come from our subconscious mind or someone might suggest that we should take a break from all the shit and come back afresh.
In either situation, we feel low and most probably agree to take that free advice thinking this probably would be the best possible solution. However, at the back of your mind we are still thinking.
How can that colleague be so much focused; what magic works for him that is giving all the energy; How the hell, anyone can continue working day-in day-out for years yet remain satisfied in almost everything.
Let me tell you a truth — those insanely focused people have identified their ‘why’ and it has come naturally to them and then rest culture, society etc have accelerated their growth due to set systems; moreover it was much easier for people who are intrinsically motivated because they always enjoyed what they do every day.
Now guess, why we may not be motivated on the job it’s probably because we are yet to figure out way(s) to make a difference to our life, to find out what we love, what makes us excited OR if we already know that we have diverse interests but are hesitant to accept our multipotentialite personality and take that first step; Oh yes, we can be even worried about our social reputation on Facebook or we still have some responsibilities on our shoulders but we also know that our precious years are passing by quickly.
Our fire comes and goes almost every day because we see several similar people all around us, day after day, who are actually leading a fake lifestyle and leading their lives without even thinking about it for a minute in a day — if there’s a better way to live. Internally, we are pissed off yet we never forget to say, “I am very good” when someone asks us — “How are you today?”
Let me come to the point because this is something that I’ve been sucked into for years, and many others are still stuck with the question, “what they actually want from their life?” when they know nothing accompanies us in the end (…a bitter truth)
Remember, you are not going to find the fire by watching another motivational video or reading another a blog post or talking to people, the bottom line is if you think and very well know that you are not wired to work as a “Specialist” and struggling to continue working in one area for a long time, chances are that you are probably a ‘Multipotentialite’ who has been gifted with multiple creative pursuits, should learn and explore different subjects in the lifetime and probably will become successful in multiple career options.
Sadly, only a handful of Multipotentialites have found their “why” and are working towards generating a hell of a lot more fire. So if you’re not motivated on your job, consider spending time to do a self-assessment and find out if you’re a Multipotentialite, that will help you to plan your future in a constructive manner.
