MultiVAC Bi-Weekly Report 22th: MultiVAC Testnet 2.0 “Enigma” will be Released Soon, Supporting PC Mining

Development Progress

Cross-shard interactions between miner and storage nodes in MultiVAC

Mainnet

1. Some security issues in the consensus module were solved;

2. The development of the dynamic re-sharding function was completed to improve system security;

3. Optimize the logic for starting and stopping consensus;

4. Add the message module, refactor the message flow, and optimize the cross-module broadcast message flow;

Testnet 2.0

1. The development of testnet 2.0 and miner client was completed;

2. Set up a simulation test environment, and the full test will begin;

Smart contract and others

1. The development of smart contract has entered the first phase, optimizing some of the underlying architecture to support smart contracts;

2. Develop and improve automation scripts;

The MultiVAC Testnet 2.0 “Enigma” has been completed and will enter final performance testing and is expected to be officially launched at the end of May.

MultiVAC CTO Shawn also published a Twitter, said: “MultiVAC testnet 2.0 “Enigma” will be ready in the next few weeks. We support personal PC to join in as a miner. Ordinary PCs with dual-core and 4GB will be enough for a miner. The testnet 2.0 mined tokens will be swapped to real MTV tokens.”

2. MultiVAC has Officially Joined Binance Info’s Transparency Initiative

Last week, MultiVAC has officially joined Binance Info’s transparency initiative. By sharing project-related information such as news and progress reports on Binance Info, MultiVAC is contributing to keeping the community informed.

3. MultiVAC’s beautiful T-shirt was completed, which one do you like?

The derivatives of MultiVAC coming again! Last week, four beautiful different designs of T-shirts with MultiVAC logo have been designed and voted in the community. Currently the first and fourth have the highest number of votes, we will consider the final style in both. Which one do you like? Tell us as soon as possible!

4. The community successfully held the second technical AMA

On May 10th, the MultiVAC community held the second AMA. The CTO Dr. Shawn explained the purple paper for everyone to better understand the MultiVAC smart contract, and what problems to solve. The first 30 minutes of the AMA was to answer the questions collected in advance, and the free 20 minutes was used for everyone to ask any further questions.

In the AMA, Dr. Shawn answered the idea of how to reshape “the 1CPU 1vote”. “MultiVAC firmly believes that the future of the blockchain should be decentralized, decentralization of rights rather than centralization. So we are against supernodes and pools.”

“On the one hand, in software, the consensus solution of MultiVAC is based on PoS, where the chance of a node being selected as a miner and winning a miner’s reward depends on an unpredictable random number and the deposit pledged by the miner. ASIC has no particular advantage in this system.”

“On the other hand, the hardware threshold of MultiVAC for mining is very low. Ordinary 2-core and 4 GB memory computer can participate in mining, making people use regular PC to become miners. We are also further optimizing the code and exploring the possibility of using mobile phones for mining in the next 5G era.”

5. Dr. Shawn’s “Interpretation of All-Dimensional Sharding” series of videos have been completed

In the video of 3–4 parts, Dr. Shawn introduced us to several existing sharding schemes and analyzed the unresolved questions. Finally, Shawn introduces the feature of the MultiVAC full-dimension sharding scheme and summarizes the main advantages of 4 points:

First, the dual-core 4GB computer can be a miner.
Second, all the data controls are in the hands of miners.
Third, efficient dynamic sharding based on VRF to ensure the security within the shard equal to the entire network.
Fourth, the processing of the single shard is proportional to the actual TPS of this shard.

6. The rewards statistics are completed and will be announced and distributed to the community

As of May 16th, all the bounty records of community activities have been completed statistics, and it is expected to be announced to you in the near future, and the event rewards will be distributed one after another. Up to now, MultiVAC has held nearly 30 events and has sent 1.2 million MTV and more than 1200 participants. Details will be released soon.
