Does your faith shape how you think about and carry out your work? This is the central question behind an exciting new program launching in Muncie, Indiana.

The Muncie Fellows program is a leadership program that equips college graduates to live out their faith in every area of life. Our goal is to inspire and equip a rising generation of leaders to explore their individual calling and embrace the reality that all aspects of life are to be lived unto God. Through an intensely practical nine-month experience, fellows will transition from college to career with intentionality and purpose while contributing to the flourishing of Muncie, Indiana.

Each fall, Muncie Fellows will provide 10–12 recent college graduates a holistic and strategic program that is composed of four key elements:

  • WORK — The integration of faith and vocation is a principal feature of the Muncie Fellows program. Each Fellow will be matched with a job that matches his or her education, interests, and strengths. The Fellows will work to understand how their individual callings, along with their theological commitments and trust in Christ, bring about flourishing, not only in their own lives but also in the life of the city.
  • COMMUNITY Relationships are gloriously difficult work; to live in community is to grow in both joy and character. The Muncie Fellows will eat together, serve together, pray together, learn together, and grow together. Fellows will live with and be cared for by host families. From start to finish, the Muncie Fellows program takes place in community.
  • LEARNING To better understand calling, we will study the narrative of the Kingdom of God in Scripture — what is often called the four-chapter gospel: Creation, Fall, Redemption, Restoration. In addition, the Fellows will participate in a wide range of classes, retreats, and conversations to better understand how the Kingdom of God frames all that we do.
  • SERVING— The local church is God’s means of restoring a broken world. Fellows will worship together and serve in and through the local church. Muncie, like anywhere on earth, is filled with opportunities to care for our neighbors’ needs, spiritual, emotional, and physical. James exhorts us to “visit orphans and widows in their affliction,” and Jeremiah says, “seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.”

The typical week for a Muncie Fellow includes:

  • 20-hour work week at a professional internship
  • Volunteering in the Muncie community
  • Gatherings for spiritual formation
  • Leadership development opportunities
  • Robust theological training
  • Home life with a host family in Muncie
  • Consistent meeting with a vocational mentor
  • Cultivating a strong Christian community
