After the Millennium Development Goals, or the MDGs, were accomplished only to some extent, the United Nations came up with a new set of goals, the Sustainable Development Goals. As one of the main topics of today, the world has recommitted itself to the complete realization of these goals.
By now, most of us on the platform know about the SDGs. However, it would do us no harm to revise our knowledge. Whether you wish to revise or have yet to learn about the SDGs, I suggest you check out Sustainable Development Goals , our comprehensive topic on the goals.
If you are not much of a reading type, or if you would like to switch it up a bit, I have come across this incredibly fun app that could be of use to you. It is a game and a quiz designed to educate you on the SDGs. It is available for Android users and it is free.
The app is called SDG Game and Quiz. It enables you to easily learn about the UN SDGs and it is designed as a call to action for people to contribute to meeting these goals.
First, you will pick an avatar from a diverse array. By further engaging virtual gold coins, you will be able to collect new, cool and super power avatars. In the game itself, you are basically trying to collect icons representing good things and avoid the bad. After the game, you will receive an SDG fact. These facts actually prepare you for the quiz.
You can take part in the quiz right away or you could wait until you are ready. You can win SDG hearts with correct quiz answers to win extra lives in the game. The quiz itself has both easy and hard questions. Don’t give up if you don’t know the answer, even if you guess wrong, you are still learning.
Another feature of the app enables the users to suggest solutions to SDG challenges and when they do, they will get an account on SDG.WORLD, the global network for the SDGs where members can share ideas and co-create solutions for achieving the SDGs.
