What is Muon?
Muon is a brand new layer-0 protocol that connects all blockchains through secure off-chain computations. Muon is a fully decentralized “Nodes-as-a-Service” network. It enables running Web 2.0 and web3 applications, off-chain, on-chain, and cross-chain.
The Muon network is akin to a decentralized super-computer with a universal communication language. This creates a powerful cloud computation service that can run any app/software and connect to all public blockchains.
Blockchains are great for storing valuable data securely, but running software is slow and expensive. This is where Muon comes in. It will give partnering blockchain projects the high-speed performance needed to become industry leaders and will enable the implementation of many new business use-cases.
Muon will supercharge the web3 economy, by essentially doing for blockchain what AWS (Amazon Web Services) did for the Web 2.0 industry.
Muon live showcase and use-cases
Oracles
Muon’s first live showcase is a high-speed oracle, called Pythia. The Oracle was created in collaboration with DEUS Finance and will be providing them with near-instantaneous stock prices in the very near future.
DEUS Finance was in need of an oracle-verified price-feed system capable of processing vast amounts of data at incredibly fast response times.
Existing oracle technologies were unable to meet such demands, which led to the creation of the first Muon-based dApp: Pythia (μPythia)
These supercharged oracles offer extensive customization, industry-leading response time and are currently being integrated into DEUS Finance. Beta tests have indicated that the data feeds are approximately 50 times faster than what’s currently on the market.
Muon makes it possible to have oracle feeds within 300 milliseconds from any data source, allowing users to trade 50,000+ stocks with instant up-to-date pricing.

Bridges
Bridges are a critical element of interoperability, enabling access to the benefits of different blockchains. Due to Muon’s decentralized network of nodes, bridges built on Muon are incredibly secure, offer hyperfast transaction speeds, and are cheap to operate due to off-chain computation. For developers, Muon’s plug-and-play modules make building and implementing bridges simple and fast.
Muon’s new μRC20 token standard is able to save balances and transactions on multiple chains simultaneously. This revolutionary new standard, in conjunction with Muon bridges, offers an entirely new landscape of possibilities. Developers are now able to create merged dApps - applications that run on multiple chains at once. Imagine smart contracts, yield farms, and DEX’s that are interconnected across multiple blockchains.
Limitless Potential
Muon is much more than just oracles and bridges. Building on Muon opens up an array of possibilities, such as integrating AI-based actors and machine learning algorithms into the web3 economy. It enables low-cost, fast, decentralized exchange and payment solutions, similar to Bitcoin’s lightning network. Muon allows dApps to be scalable through sharding, meaning that dApps don’t need to run on all Muon nodes at all times, making them cost-effective and highly customizable.
