The Muon Network’s team of over thirty engineers has released V3 onto our production environment.

With this release comes greater flexibility, as we begin inviting partners to run their own nodes, taking full advantage of our node-network infrastructure.

Network Updates

In V2 we migrated all our alpha applications to our new platform and algorithm. The most important aspect of the V2 release was the implementation of threshold signatures in our production environment.

Threshold signatures offer customizable security for our partners, by assigning the signing and verification of data to specifically designated node groups.

Now in V3, Muon partners will be invited to run their own nodes on the network. They can choose how many to run and what level of security collateral (vs. speed) they want associated with them, guaranteeing each transaction.

As partners begin to implement and test the node, we will see an expansion of the network and improved security.

Progress / Roadmap

Whether it is NFTs, gaming, DeFi or any other use-case, Muon V3, and later Muon Gen2, will offer very precise customization according to each partner’s own needs, thus creating a dynamic and flexible node ecosystem.

Some partners may require the nodes to be known to them, or to have certain security credentials such as being verified by third parties, while others may have different requirements such as node randomization and larger collateral guarantees, depending on the sensitivity of the transactions being signed and verified.

Collateral requirements are emphasized, as they will play a crucial role in regards to our slashing system, which is essentially how nodes are incentivized to provide accurate data.

Our partner FEAR is using Muon to deliver their game rewards on-chain, but their use-case may have different security requirements than another partner, for example DEUS Finance, who are using Muon’s ‘Pythia’ oracle to offer live stock prices for their platform.

As we progress toward Gen2 of Muon in 2022, we will continue to see further network updates, as well as the launch of the $MUON token, which supports the network by providing the payment required for each transaction across the network.

Keep an eye on our social media over the coming weeks, for updates on our DAO Maker SHO (IDO) and for more information about how to participate in the $MUON token launch.
