Upgrades for Nodes & App Deployment on ALICE

Continued improvements to the node dashboard and onboarding process headlined our developers focus in March. Part of this included a successful major upgrade of all ALICE nodes on the network, and we’re pleased to say that within a week of this being done, almost all active nodes have been upgraded! (For those yet to update, please see the Discord announcement for instructions)

Additionally, work has accelerated on the app deployment process for third-party developers. The stage is now firmly set for builders to join the party and begin testing their app ideas on the Muon protocol!

Another piece of wonderful news for Muonites is that the dashboard for adding nodes has been completely revised and updated. Now adding a node is easier with fewer steps and less complexity. Moreover, node operators can see all the necessary info for their nodes in one page with a user-friendly and attractive design.

Muon Passes First Audit!

The security of Muon’s innovative code is of the utmost importance, especially with user funds coming soon with the launch of Pioneer. To go with many months of internal testing, a private developer has conducted an internal audit of the Muon codes, and provided an initial report. All the proposed modifications have been made, marking another important step in keeping Muon secure!

Fee Structure in Testing

A critical part of how the Muon protocol operates with live funds is how revenue (fees) are distributed through the network. The fee structure has been in the making for some weeks now, first from a conceptual and now a technical standpoint. And its testing has recently begun! Although no end date for this work has been determined, this is a major development on the road to Pioneer!

ALICE Reward Questions Answered

Balancing fair distribution of the $PION token whilst also incentivizing users both established and new is a delicate task; however, with careful consideration, the requirements for the $PION node-drop have been set. Network Growth By The Numbers

Talking about our progress in words is one thing, but the numbers confirm that day after day, Muon is growing — and growing fast! Our partners at Thena now have over 3,800 unique DiBs referral codes, and the ALICE Testnet has added another 1,100 nodes in the past month, now with an overall figure of over 7,600!

An Evolving Platform for a Growing Community

As our community continues to grow, having a central hub for communication and conversation becomes increasingly important. Which is why we’ve been continuing to make updates to our Discord server, including updates to our channel structure, adding the ‘Mutron’ bot for server ranks, and also enabling ALICE node operators to gain a special role to signify their status as early participants within the Muon protocol!
