Many are worried about the monopolization of artificial intelligence (AI) by big corporations. However, the distributed and permissionless nature of decentralized chains could offer an alternative.

Besides the previously introduced protocols, Muon team is one of the first decentralized platforms preparing the terrain for the wide adoption of AI in Web3.

AI & Web3: Mutual Advantages

The integration of AI into web 3 can lead to benefits for both. On the one hand, Web3 can serve as a competitive testing ground and fund raising ecosystem for AI projects and offer a wide array of services including:

  1. Data-storage solutions
  2. Distributed computing power
  3. Comprehensive data collection
  4. Robust security measures
  5. Open marketplaces without central oversight.

On the other hand, the integration of AI and Big Data tools with blockchain technology paves the way for securely connecting chains to a broader spectrum of data sources, which can significantly enhance the versatility and scope of dApps as well as their actual business use-cases.

Muon/Pion and AI Integration

Muon is building an infrastructure base that can smoothly and securely integrate AI with the blockchain ecosystem. This means leveraging AI to analyze off-chain data — like market trends and price information — and using it to improve on-chain operations such as smart contracts and transactions. This integration could lead to smarter and more efficient crypto platforms.

By applying machine learning techniques, the infrastructure can enhance the responsiveness of the web3 ecosystem to real-world data and trends such as providing more accurate and timely price feeds, improving security through better anomaly detection, and streamlining transactions. This makes the entire experience smoother for users and more adaptable to changing market conditions.

The Mind Behind the Initiative

To lay the groundwork for this integration, we have recently formed an AI unit and we happen to have a professional AI researcher to lead it: Reza Bakhshandeh.

Besides a Masters’ degree in AI, Reza’s background includes significant contributions through patents in AI tech and insightful academic research. His published academic works, illustrating his interest and expertise with AI, are listed on platforms like Google Scholar and IEEE Xplore. Here are two of his initial essays that discuss the use of AI to enhance search engines and social networks.

This paper delves into the dynamics of social networks and has used the whole Twitter/X network. It presents new search techniques to ascertain the degree of separation between users known as Six Degrees of Separation.

By employing X as a testing ground, Reza and his team demonstrated the ability to significantly improve the efficiency of identifying connections between users, showcasing the application of these methods in reducing the required number of internet requests to discover these connections.

This paper focuses on algorithmic enhancement of search engine results by integrating users’ interests derived from social networks (like Twitter/X). This approach represented a novel way of making search engines more user-centric, leveraging the vast amounts of data generated on social platforms to tailor search results more effectively.

What’s next?

By drawing on Reza’s experience and research findings, Muon is currently positioned to create a more interconnected and “intelligent” digital finance ecosystem. Having achieved this end, we will focus on the following:

1- Use-cases and challenges of Decentralized Networks and AI in general.

2- Launching a network and some projects to use decentralized nets and AI.

Pion is the Muon ecosystem’s Canary and first mainnet. It is a chain-independent and stateless DON (Decentralized Oracle Network) that enables dApps to make their off-chain components decentralized.
