If you’ve been following us for a while, you know that our story began with the Gypsy Rose Blanchard case. When I joined the team a little more than 2 years ago, I never imagined that I would be writing this post today. I’m not sure exactly what I expected, but every single time that a new door opens and a new opportunity arises, I’m a little bit surprised, very excited, and beyond grateful.

We’ve come a remarkably long way from where we started and it’s been one hell of a ride so far. I’ve always said it’s like riding a roller coaster; with the ups and downs, the highs and lows, and the utter exhilaration you feel with each and every ride. It’s been crazy, fun, sometimes a little scary, but mostly it’s been an unforgettable experience.

Sticking with the roller coaster analogy, I’m going to tell you this; we’re embarking on the biggest ride we’ve been on together so far and it’s going to be phenomenal! We’ve teamed up with CrimeDoor and The Doe Network to bring you our 1st ever virtual, immersive true crime event. It’s called Cocktails & Criminals and I promise you, you don’t want to miss it.

If you haven’t heard of CrimeDoor, it’s the only True Crime app featuring custom Augmented Reality (AR) crime scenes. You can virtually walk the crime scenes, from anywhere, using your cell phone or tablet. This app gets more eyes on a crime and helps to raise awareness, with the goal of solving cold and unsolved cases. CrimeDoor was created by Neil and Lauren Mandt and we believe 100%, that their vision and innovation are going to change the true crime world forever.

Todd Matthews is known as the original “web sleuth” since he helped solved the Tent Girl case in Kentucky. He eventually became the director of NamUS and then went on to be one of the founders of The Doe network. The Doe Network is the International Center For Unidentified And Missing Persons. It’s 100% volunteer-run and those that volunteer are dedicated to giving names to the nameless and returning missing people to their loved ones. The work they do is so impressive and also very inspiring.

On June 26th, 2021 from 4 pm to 10 pm EDT, the hosts of The Good Wives Guide To True Crime Podcast & Murder By Design are partnering with CrimeDoor and Todd Matthews to present this special event. We have several ticket options, so there’s something for everyone. We’ll be covering 3 cases during the event; the Gypsy Rose Blanchard case, Harrodsburg’s Dancing Lady, and the murders of Abby Williams and Libby German in Delphi. We’ll have a few drinks, look at the evidence and the details of each case, and maybe even help solve a cold case.

There’s wine, t-shirts and other merchandise available for you to purchase and a portion of all sales goes back to The Doe Network to further their work on cold cases and The American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children continuing their work in identifying and researching Munchausen By Proxy.
