Never Met You
A Poem of Romance, Heartbreak, and Regret
This town that I once loved so much,
Now, it has changed a lot.
The site has become a souvenir of you,
It reminds me of all the agony it brought.
I wish I never met you,
I regret the day I lay my gaze on you.
You left me with so much pain.
It will be never easy to regain.
Red flags were there since the start,
But you gave me a taste,
So, I wanted more.
In darkness, I hold on to the hope,
It may get better with us,
Now, this wound is raw.
This injury is poisonous,
Infecting me to the core.
You got me,
Crawling on the floor.
You made me acknowledge,
How broken I was was inside.
You played on my insecurities,
You took to never provide.
I wish I’d never met a woman like you,
I wish I’d never tried to pursue.
