Shed A Tear

A Poem of Unfaithfulness, Truth & Healing

This day had to arrive,
I knew I couldn’t hide it anymore.
We had to face the truth,
I couldn’t lie to you anymore.

Please, don’t shed a tear,
Those crystals are invaluable.
Pluck away all the fear,
Take all the anger out of me,
Honor me with all labels.

Believe me when I say,
There were no feelings involved.
But I know it doesn’t make it right,
Don’t let our love dissolve.

It only happened once,
The gin drove me to this tragedy.
I am not lying anymore,
Even though it is,
We must accept the reality.

Unfaithful is what I have been,
There is no going back to what we had.
All I can do is tell you the truth,
So we can both heal,
You now must understand.
