Day 08: Blondie, Heart of Glass

These match my memory quite well. image credits: https://www.flickr.com/photos/christianmontone/sets/72157627155558409/detail/ http://www.discogs.com/Shaun-Cassidy-Under-Wraps/release/5969770 http://www.8-track-shack.com/images/20111209011717-Untitled-17111208.jpg https://www.etsy.com/listing/99246189/vintage-8-track-tape-player-portable-8

Shortly after my brother got his first portable cassette tape player, he gave me his portable eight-track tape player. I already had a couple eight-track tapes, because we had players in other places, like in the family room and the stereo unit in my mom’s Thunderbird. My own tapes were: Shaun Cassidy, Under Wraps and Sesame Street Disco (which actually may have been my sister’s.)

The great thing about this new-to-me portable tape player was now I could take my music outside. And my brother threw a new tape into the deal, Blondie’s Parallel Lines. The portable tape player fit perfectly in the basket on my pink banana seat bike. And it played loudly enough that if I set it on the table on the back patio, I could hear it from the sand pile. If I was close enough to reach the player, I’d play Blondies’s Heart of Glass over and over and over.
