Day 09: Guns N’ Roses, Sweet Child O’ Mine
I never really learned to do “mom” sorts of stuff like how I imagine normal moms do… stuff. Case in point, lullabies. I don’t recall my mom singing lullabies to me, nor do I recall ever learning the words to any of the ones you always see television and movie moms singing to their newborn infants. Rockin’ the by-babies and mocking birds just never made their way into my repertoire.
But I do love to sing, even if it sounds terrible. So one of my lullabies to both of my blonde haired, blue eyed girls when they were babies was Sweet Child O’ Mine, by Guns N’ Roses. The lyrics work as well from a lover-to-lover perspective as they do from a parent-to-child perspective. Great stuff.
