How to Grow a Tumour

Sometimes you may stumble across a lone tweet that touches on a topic you actually know quite a lot about. It hits close to home. The tweeter evidently has a diametrically opposed viewpoint on the topic in question. You feel quite strongly that they are misguided, misinformed and probably plain wrong.

Now you have a choice of how to react. Let’s pick from the diverse menu of possible reactions:

  1. call them out, start a rant of your own and initiate a flame war (fun for the whole family to enjoy!)
  2. call them out, try to keep it peaceful and you may build another bridge (does this ever work?)
  3. ignore it (but it just won’t stop bugging you!)
  4. ignore it and suppress it (you’ll probably grow a tumour)
  5. ignore it and block them (for the passive aggressive connoisseur)
  6. write a blog about it (oh hey, a bit like I’m doing now)

There may be other options. Please enlighten me in your responses. I’ve opted for option 6 this time, but my customary fallback is option 4 in all its tumour inducing glory.
