Alpha Lyrics API will be released @MusicHackday in Barcelona on 2–3 October,2010

Hey music folks,
We hope everybody had a great summer and that you’re ready for back to school! LOL But while you were on the beach, we spent the summer working…
Amazingly more than 4,000 of you from all around the world sent us requests to be included in the private alpha release of our Lyrics API! Judging from your enthusiastic response, it seems that we really struck a chord. A licensed lyrics service is the missing link in the digital music industry, and musiXmatch was born to fill the gap.

One thing that we’re particularly happy about is how many independent songwriters and music publishers wrote to us, excited about the chance to distribute, track and monetize their lyrics in the emerging digital music universe.

So, we were thinking… what would be the best venue to show off what we’ve got cooking?

The answer was obvious. We chose Musichackday in Barcelona to release our private alpha Lyrics API. We love the idea behind Musichackday, a place for digital music lovers, hackers and geeks to gather and meet with great companies like BMAT, SoundCloud, Last.fm, Echonest, Band Metrics and Freesound. It’s a perfect fit for us. The market has been begging for a Lyrics API, and here we are!

We’re looking forward to demonstrating our private alpha Lyrics API and to get your live feedback.
