How that by revelation He made known to me the mystery - Ephesians 3:3

MYSTERY, n.- a profound secret; something wholly unknown or something kept cautiously concealed, and therefore exciting curiosity or wonder.

Everything known and understood as proven facts where once an unknown mystery yet to be discovered. Some mysteries in the scriptures are beneficial but hidden for specific reasons.

‭For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time- 1 Timothy 2:3-6

Did you know that before Paul the apostle was converted to Christianity God's plan of redemption was only made available to those who followed the Old Testament practice of Judaism known as the law?

It's not that God did not love everyone but Israel was his original chosen people but they continually chose to reject his law and serve many false Gods. This was more evident after Jesus began his three-year earthly ministry of sharing the good news of God's forgiveness.

The pharassies rejected him as the chosen messiah. They misunderstood that following the law was created only to reveal their sinful nature and need for a savior.

‭Therefore by the deeds of the law, no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin - ‭Romans 3:20

But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith - ‭Galatians 3:23-24

Because of the Pharisee's pride and continual rejection of Christ's teachings, he cleverly changed his focus of ministry from Israel only to everyone else known as Gentiles.

God in his sovereignty already knew this would happen but kept this mystery hidden from everyone. Jesus exclusively gave this new invitation of hope to Paul the apostle to preach what is known and still currently the focus known as the dispensation of grace.

‭For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you - Ephesians 3:1-2

Paul's gospel makes salvation available to everyone regardless of race, color, or creed. We no longer have to attempt to be good enough or try to earn salvation through our works. All that is required is for us to place our trust in Christ's provision by faith.

‭For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone boast - ‭Ephesians 2:8-9

This is truly good news! Have you taken up his invitation?
