One Last Rose

In a better place now

A wake. The black casket sits open waiting for the line to form.

They peer down at my lifeless body — my wife, children, grandchildren, and friends.

I see tears wash down their cheeks and their sadness is so overwhelming.

I long to tell them I am fine, but my mouth no longer works on this earth.
