That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit - John 3:6

In 1977 the movie 'Star Wars' took the world by storm and became the most successful and largest-grossing sci-fi movie of all time. It became a cultural phenomenon that still exists today and continues to grow as it's rediscovered and passed down from one generation to the next.

I believe that its popularity is due to the classic beliefs in traditional values of right and wrong and good versus evil. It also brings to the forefront the aspect of spirituality as a motive behind everything we do and seek to achieve.

The movie's focus is based on the concept called the force. Although George Lucas is not a Christian and has been quoted as influenced by Buddhism. We have been created to ponder and desire the deeper things of the spiritual world.

Where we fall short is we want to take the one true God of the Bible out of the equation so we can put the focus on ourselves who are sinful and corrupt.

‭‭For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit - Romans 8:5

Life can be difficult and confusing and we seek answers to some of these struggles that impact our everyday life. In the movie, Luke must learn to become one with the force to be better equipped to fight for what is good and just in opposition to great evil.

In reality, we can figuratively achieve similar things if we surrender to God by faith in his only son Jesus Christ, and the holy spirit who dwells within us and will direct our paths as we study the scriptures and apply them to practical everyday applications.

‭‭But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God - 1 Corinthians 2:10

We are spiritual beings in a physical world with the end goal of being reunited with our heavenly father to reign with him in glory for eternity. But our biggest enemy is not so much the forces of evil that do exist and currently are allowed to run the world we find ourselves in. The fact is we are our own worst enemy because we have been given the power of free will to choose whom we serve.

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death - ‭‭James 1:14-15

Luke the humble farmboy from Tatooine becomes the hero and helps to destroy the evil of the galactic empire. In reality, Jesus Christ is the true hero and has already destroyed the power of sin and death through his life, death, and resurrection.

The only thing that remains is who is willing to place their faith in him for forgiveness and walk the path of righteousness.

When he returns after the great tribulation he will create a new heaven and earth, restore peace, and abolish evil once and for all.

‭‭‭‭Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all - ‭‭‭‭ 1 Chronicles 29:11

Who's side will you choose to serve?
