Understanding How God Has Spoken to Us in These Last Days

In the past, God spoke to the Fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways. In the last of these days He has spoken to us in the person of His Son (Jesus Christ), whom He has appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the Planets and the far reaches of space; who being the radiance of His glory and the exact expression of His substance, and upholding all things by the power of His word, after having made purification of sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high…(Hebrews 1:1–3)
‘In the last of these days’ in the above verse, seems to be the correct translation. It is the nearest the New Testament comes to what some call Dispensations, though the word is not found in the New Testament. It is most often translated ‘In these last days.’ It refers to the end of a certain time period. The appearance of Jesus and the preaching of the Gospel signifies the last part of a time period. When this time period is over life on Earth will change significantly. So far it has been 2000 years. we do not know how much time remains.
In the last of these days, God is speaking to all people through the person of Jesus. He is the Word of God always, and for this time. The verse puts it in the past tense because Jesus has come from Heaven, lived on Earth…
