Unlocking Triumph: How Faith Opens The Highway To Victory
HAVE FAITH IN GOD
(1 John 5:4) For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Another translation says; For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.
The victory that overcomes the world is not automatic for Christians. ‘We achieve this’, the verse says, through our active faith. Everything in opposition to our Christian living is triumphed over by our faith. I looked up synonyms for conquered: get the better of, trounce, clobber, give someone a drubbing, pulverize, wipe the floor with, walk all over, take to the cleaners, blow someone out of the water, make mincemeat of.
There is nothing like everyday conversational language to emphasize a point. Notice the first verse above uses the past tense. ‘That has overcome the world’. It is a done deal handed to us by Jesus. The only requisite is our faith. But a very important requisite. Active believing of the words God has given us. Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Trouble in some form is guaranteed. ‘You will have trouble’ guaranteed from the mouth of Jesus. Our Christian lives are moving…
