The Greatest Showman : Movie Review
The Greatest Showman was my first shot at a Musical Drama, I’ve been a Hugh Jackman fan for a longtime and watching him get away from the Wolverine character was something I was looking forward to and certainly I wasn’t going to miss it.
The Greatest Showman stars Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Zendaya and Michelle Williams in lead roles. It’s a Biographical, musical drama based on the life of one of the legends’ of the show business “P.T. Barnum”.
Well, this being my first try at a musical, I had no idea what to expect from the movie and so with almost no expectations, I went in to watch it and I’ve to say it was enjoyable, fun, emotional to watch and the songs were a treat to the ears. I did not read any of the critic’s reviews and honestly that was one of the best decisions, too much skepticism and the movie is much more than what critics have reviewed.
The Movie has a simple take on the life of PT Burnam, the editing was done to perfection, the star cast was amazing, Zendaya had a lot of Stunts to do and from what I’ve heard she did all of them on her own, Zac Efron and Hugh Jackman were impressive, Michelle Williams was fabulous, everyone portraying their roles to perfection. The story is a bit straight forward and you can see what’s coming.
In all, it’s a fun family movie, if you’ve never been to a circus, this is your chance to see a preview. The Greatest Showman opened doors for me to the Musical genre and I’m gonna find more musicals and watch them, certainly worth watching it with kids.
