He comes home from work and relaxes. Pours a cup of chill with a side of take it easy, followed by a heavy dose of good time jams.

He finally convinces himself to code again. Hours pass battling the few lines of programming he can’t seem to tackle.

Time keeps passing and still he can’t figure it out. Finally, he begins to declothe.

First, it’s the socks. Then, it’s the shirt. He gets under the living room comforter. Hours pass staring at those few lines he can’t seem to troubleshoot.

Finally, he wakes up from a deep sleep late in the night. He realizes yet another day has past and he still hasn’t completed the code staring back at him on the computer screen — taunting him.

Standing up in the late night’s comforting silence, he derobes further, closes the laptop and turns off lights and anything else left on or open before he passed out.

Off to get ready for bed. Tomorrow, he’ll try all over again.

Brushing his teeth, staring at his reflection in the mirror, he thinks about the next problem to solve after he can wrap his brain around the current puzzle piece.

Here’s to another day. Eventually, he’ll figure it all out. And after that, on to the next challenge. The cycle repeats.

The geek never stops the natural process of self improvement — constant iteration.
