At the beginning of this month, MVL published 2021 MVL Annual Report. This article shows part of the report covering achievements of MVL Mobility services and Blockchain developments last year. You can see the full version at https://mvlchain.page.link/ZRkY.

1. TADA — Ride Hailing

As of December of 2021, the number of new drivers registered in TADA ride-hailing service this year was about 40,000 drivers, and about 200,000 riders, with a total of 240,000 new subscribers. The cumulative users reached 1.24 million, an increase of about 24% compared to last year. The number of drivers increased by 40% to about 140,000, and the number of riders increased by 22% to about 1.1 million.

The number of TADA ride-hailing service orders was about 4.15 million in the first half and about 7.7 million in the second half, recording 11.85 million. The total number of orders last year was about 6.47 million, about 83% increased in this year. The average number of annual orders per month is about 1.08 million, and in the second half of the year continues to grow, increasing by 22% per month compared to the first half.

2. TADA — Delivery

TADA Delivery Cambodia’s total sales were poor in the first half due to Cambodia’s overall lockdown between April and May, but the lockdown situation ended and rapidly recovered the growth. In particular, it has opened delivery services in suburban areas (Siem Reap, Kampong Thom) and has maintained sales of more than $900,000 every month. Based on this, TADA Cambodia plans to expand its services and business beyond Phnom Penh to all areas of Cambodia.

TADA Fresh posted sales of $620,000 in the second half of 2021, which increased about 81% from the second half of last year. Since last year, TADA Fresh has been operating services in partnership with traditional representative markets such as Tekka, Tiong Bahru, and 216 Bedok in Singapore, and Hyundai Department Store and China Wet Market have newly opened this year to expand customer choices. In addition, TADA Singapore launches the TADA Express service following Cambodia and also provides on-demand delivery services.

3. TADA — Wallet & Pay

MVL’s fintech service capabilities are also growing uninterruptedly, based on mobility services. Since launching the TADA Wallet in Cambodia at the end of last year, TADA Pay’s share of non-cash payment methods has increased to more than 50% based on the amount, more significant than the credit card usage since November. In the future, simple payments in Southeast Asia will grow as a means of payment to replace cash and credit cards. In addition, TADA Pay plans to develop various auto financial products in the simple payment area and based on the secured user.

4. TaaS(TADA as a Service)

Starting in the first half of this year, MVL started to export (SaaS) business based on the blockchain-based mobility service platform that applies TADA and other MVL protocols.

The details of the export contract with the partners are as follows:

  • Export TADA Delivery and TADA Truck platform to PT.Makmur Sejahtera Organik’s ‘Quiks’ in Indonesia
  • Export TADA Delivery platform to Market Saigon in Vietnam
  • Provide TADA and E-TukTuk to ‘WEZ’ platform in Ethiopia

Through the TaaS contract, partners operate their services using the MVL platform software, and MVL receives a portion of the transaction revenue generated through the platform as a commission. In addition, the authority to all data (logistics, cold chain, vehicle driving, consumer data, etc.) generated through the platform belongs to MVL and is stored in the MVL blockchain.

Through the TaaS business, MVL will expand globally with various partners.

5. ONiON Mobility

ONiON T1

ONiON Mobility is about to be officially launched after completing the development of ONiON T1, Cambodia’s first electric three-wheeler. Powered by three replaceable batteries, it enables instant charging at an ONiON dedicated station, enhancing the convenience of platform drivers, who are the main customers.

Since the beginning of this year, the ONiON Mobility website and official SNS channels have been created and have continued to promote online, and have been receiving pre-orders for ONiON T1. Pre-orders will be delivered to owners from February 2022. Pre-orders exceeded 200 units as of December 2021, drawing a positive response.

ONiON Station

ONiON Mobility is building an electrical infrastructure for charging ONiON T1 batteries in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. First of all, ONiON Mega Station will be completed in January 2022. Mega Station is a station with a capacity to charge about 600 batteries and is also used as a showroom to promote brands and vehicles installed in urban areas. In addition, we plan to increase access to battery charging by gradually supplying hub stations, which are half the size of Mega Stations, and small chargers in the form of kiosks.

ZEPETO ONiON Station

ZEPETO ONiON Station World is an actual ONiON Station in Cambodia implemented in the digital space ZEPETO World. It was created so that community users who have difficulty visiting the local area can experience the ONiON Station indirectly through the online showroom. Visitors can experience various experiences within the world, such as visiting a showroom, driving ONiON T1, and charging the battery.

After downloading the ‘ZEPETO’ app, you can enter by searching for the ‘ONiON Station’ world or MVL official account (@mvllabs_official) in ZEPETO.

6. MVL Blockchain

Launch of Hybrid Blockchain

MVL launched a hybrid blockchain that connects the MVL permissioned blockchain and the Tezos public blockchain. The permissioned blockchain records data for data business purposes that require permission to view, and the public blockchain is used to prove the history and integrity of the data. Through this, we overcame the limitations of the existing public blockchain, which made it impossible to disclose data, and released a part of the MVL Github so that the development status of the MVL team can be checked by the public and evaluation bots on overseas evaluation sites.

Issue of Driver Passport NFT

Driver information and trip information generated through TADA business are stored in the permissioned blockchain and public blockchain in NFT format. Among them, “Driver Passport NFT” contains driver information, and it has been partially completed and stored. In addition, you can check the number of NFTs issued so far on the Smart Contract storage.

Launch of MVL Bridge

“MVL Bridge” page has opened to move Ethereum-based MVL tokens to the Binance Smart Chain. MVL ERC20 tokens and BEP20 tokens can be transferred through this page. MVL Bridge was launched to build various services that MVL will introduce in the future, such as DeFi, NFT, and games, on the Binance Smart Chain. Accordingly, a new MVL BEP20 token has been added, and its utilization will be expanded. In addition, the audit has completed for related contracts to ensure the safe use of MVL Bridge.

※ The existing ERC20 ⇄ BEP2 MVL token swap page is maintained, but the ERC20 → BEP2 swap service has been temporarily suspended due to concerns about the confusion between services.

7. MVL 2.0 Concept Paper

In the first half of this year, the concept of MVL 2.0 was first unveiled at an online conference.

MVL 2.0 is a step forward from the existing MVL 1.0, which builds a business foundation in the real world for the mobility ecosystem, and is the starting point of the stage of breaking the limits of the traditional mobility industry by connecting the actual business that has been developed closer to the blockchain.

Check out the detailed information about the four concepts of Wallet, DeFi, NFT, and Game through the MVL 2.0 Concept Paper.

Please stay tuned for more updates in 2022.
