Silver Bells: It’s Christmas Time in the University!
Hohoho! Simbang Gabi season has begun and the malls nowadays are filled like packed sardines because of last minute Christmas shopping errands. Are you feeling the Yuletide cheer? Despite the sad and gloomy weather, there is nothing that could kill the mood in celebrating the widest and most exciting holiday in the country, which is Christmas! The season of the quezo-de-bolas, crazy Christmas sales (and traffic, erghm.) and aguinaldos, the four-month Christmas celebration of the Filipinos brings tons of merriment and cheer!
As the days get colder and longer (as well as the prolonging desire for the Christmas break, FINALLY), Christmas campuses have decided to bring in the season’s greetings with their school decorations as well! Here are some of some ho-ho-holly dolly Christmas campuses!

DE LA SALLE UNIVERSITY

“For UST’s decorations, I like how the community spent so much effort in decorating the whole university. All those Christmas lights on the trees gives the magical feeling of the Christmas and also the giant Christmas tree they put in the field highlights the Christmas sensation. I think it’s wonderful how the community kept the tradition of Paskuhan because not only does it give the students an opportunity to enjoy and embrace the Christmas after the dreading finals season but also gives the chance to bond with blockmates, teachers and most especially their families during the most wonderful time of the year.” — Julia Ignacio, III (BS Interior Design)

“If you look at the decoration in Bahay ng Alumni, it’s really nice and looks extravagant. Other buildings have simpler decorations kasi eh. “The Lantern Parade is a festive annual tradition in UP. It is a day when students from the University, visitors from other schools, alumni and family visit the UP Campus and wait in anticipation for the parade of lanterns. Each college puts a lot of effort in making the lantern they show of on parade day.
