Charging On: Week 9 at Made by Many
Immediately after writing “Week 9” into the title of this post, I paused. Week 9? I must’ve skipped a week somewhere. I went back to check, but no mistakes were found. It really had been 9 weeks at Made by Many. With each passing week our fast approaching deadline becomes more and more apparent. Stripping our idea clean of every fluffy feature still left us with quite a bit to do. Let’s take a step back and look at what we have versus what we have to do.
This is our flow:
What we’ve got
In my interviews, I reviewed our design and functionality with a good handful of people. We integrated most of their feedback into the project, excluding the additional fluffy features that people asked for. Billy and Emily have been working hard this past week. Designs are nearly finalized for the matches page, most of the emails, and the pocket page. Code is written for the matches page, the pocket page, and a good chunk of the emails.
Many of the sponsor side interviewees claimed they would try out the product if I offered to onboard them. One or two took extra interest and offered to reach out to people they think would be interested in the application. I planned on squeezing in a pitch session with Stuart today, but I’ll get it in on Monday.
Next Steps
Emily is going to work on the welcome email (the last email design she has) and then the dashboard. Billy will probably keep working on emails next week and hopefully start the dashboard. As for me, I need to brush up on my pitching skills.
I’ll hopefully get to talk to Stu next week about how to carry out a pitch. In the meantime, I’ll start encouraging everyone from the office connected to someone we’ve listed on our sponsor hitlist to start reaching out. Currently, I’m looking for more local food businesses to pitch to. Along with cold emailing (uch), I’m headed to Smorgasburg this weekend and the weekend after to reach out personally. We most definitely have our work cut out for us in these next three weeks, but as long as we keep charging on, we’ll make it to producthunt.
