I think we did with certain human characteristics the same which we did with certain symbols.

Think about swastika.

At first it was only a symbol (a scribble) without any meaning. For it to have any meaning, we need to attach it to it.

It’s only bad because we said it’s bad. It’s neither good nor bad until we will say it’s either good or bad. Until there is no connotation you can paint it on a wall and it’ll mean nothing. Nobody will be horrified or outraged.
