Inspiration is fleeting

Pausing to take it down is something that we all know we should do, but that is rarely the case. Maybe it’s meant to be that way. These ideas that come are never lost; they have just returned to the background.

The ideas are there back to the compost pile of our minds, fermenting and creating more interesting angles and applicable perceptions.

Maybe inspiration isn’t fleeting. Maybe it is with us just waiting for us to recognize it. Funny how those things work. But it all comes together when acting as if. Inspiration needs to be called out whenever possible. We ignore it at our own peril.

Obsessions can be dangerous, but they are natural outcrop of inspiration. Something external calls us to action. It is up to us to determine which inspiration we follow and which we do not. Our obsessions are ours and ours alone. We have the choice to follow or to ignore. These are some of the most important choices we can make in our everyday lives.

But when we do, and when it works, there is synchronicity and a notion — a very physical notion — that the inspiration and subsequent obsession is the right path. The component parts work together to form the symphony that is our everyday lives and experiences.

Inspiration is a beautiful thing.
