Writers create imaginary worlds. That’s the fun of telling stories. Our character move in our world, suffering at our whims.

It is easy to forget that we are subject to the same forces. We live our day to day lives at the whim of our environment. Events occur without warning. Our roles in life can be thrust upon us, and we have to accept them.

This can be the fuel of our future tales. It is something to be valued and embraced.
