What about the rest of the process?

What does it mean to be a writer? When we hear the often given advice of write every day, what does that mean?

If we accept that writing is a process — and it is — then that would indicate that the majority of our time should be spend drafting, whether it be with pen or keyboard.

What about the rest of the process? And where do writers find the time?

Time needs to be spent editing and revising. Otherwise, all we are producing is first drafts.

Our creative energy is limited, and we must find productive ways to spend it. Drafting all of the time can feel good, but the pen needs to be put down at some point.

How else would we ever complete the process?
