You have to know your story before you write your story. Anything else is walking in the dark.

Sure, you can sit down and write and write and write, creating around 100,000 words before you realize that you’re going in the wrong direction.

Take the time to understand where you want the story to go. Take the time to understand and answer the questions that you have. Only then will you know that when you sit down to draft you will have a guide in place.

Yes, all practice is valuable but our time is precious, too.
