[HELP] Sale Card: Series 1 Introduction
Here are the 10 Kami-Cards from Series 1 of the Sale Cards. There are one-point explanations of the skills by the game planners and comments from the Illustration designers, so please enjoy.
・Jizo
<Rarity> Common
<Number> 1
<Skill>
[During this game] Able to see the total count of cards with the Number 7,8,9,10 in each opponent’s hand.
<Skill explanation by game planners>
The effect lasts for the entirety of game 1, making it easier to see through the enemy’s bluffs.
It is also excellent for adjusting the deck cost.
The theory is to play it in the pre-round and guess the enemy’s information.
After the skill is activated, the Numbers of the enemy’s hand will be displayed below their profile picture.
<Illustration designer’s comments>
I wanted to give it a benevolent feel, but it ended up looking a little sad.
・Shisa
<Rarity> Common
<Number> 2
<Skill>
[Next Round] If there is a number 1 card in the pre-round, number +2
<Skill explanation by game planners>
If you or one of your opponents play a card with the number 1 in the pre-round, you will fulfill the condition to activate the skill, and you will get +2 to the number of the card you played in the next round.
Since there is a high probability that a number 1 will appear in the pre-round, it is a good idea for you to play this to earn +2 for the next round.
Unlike a Cyclops — which is another number 2 card — this one is a point where you can earn +2 without worrying about the number you will play in the next round.
If your deck is built around cards with a number of 5 or higher, I recommend Shisa.
<Illustration designer’s comments>
The Shisa itself has a very nice design, so I incorporated it into the MCS design line without any twists.
・Banshee
<Rarity> Common
<Number> 3
<Skill>
[This round] Deduct 6 (-6) from enemy cards with number 9.
<Skill explanation by game planners>
The skill effect is effective against all enemies with the number 9 out.
Just having one of these cards in your deck will be enough to keep your enemies in check.
If you play Cyclops and Banshee, in that order, you can get +3 even if none of the enemies have a number 9.
<Illustration designer’s comments>
This design is the result of thinking about how to differentiate it from the Baba Yaga. I like the ghosts around me.
・Golem
<Rarity> UnCommon
<Number> 4
<Skill>
[This round] Add 2 (+2) Elemental Advantage.
<Skill explanation by game planners>
When you play with four players, if you win an Elemental Boost with a Golem, you get a total of +5 due to the normal Element Victory and skill effects.
Also, you can fight just by taking out the Golem after taking out the Shisa or Cyclops, but you can make your chances of winning the Elemental battle more stable by teaming up with the Sphinx.
You can expect to get a lot of points for the low cost of this card.
<Illustration designer’s comments>
There are so many different designs for this character, so I was always thinking about how to differentiate it from the others. But in the end, I felt a sense of déjà vu…
・Leviathan
<Rarity> Rare
<Number> 5
<Skill>
[Next round] Deduct 4 (-4) from enemy Cards with Element that this card is not good at.
<Skill explanation by game planners>
It works against a specific Element of the enemy card in the next round.
A fire leviathan will be effective against a weak water Element card, and a water leviathan will be effective against a wood Element card.
If you play a fire leviathan, you are suggesting that you will play a water card at -4 in the next round, so the enemy will tend to choose a fire or wood card to avoid playing a water card.
If you play Leviathan at the same time the enemy plays Kraken, you may be able to use Leviathan’s skill against the enemy’s Kraken.
<Illustration designer’s comments>
This may be the character I spent the least amount of time drawing. I aimed to make the character easily recognizable by his silhouette.
・Anubis
<Rarity> Rare
<Number> 6
<Skill>
[Next round] The card with the highest number is deducted by 2 (-2). If you are the highest, deducted by 2 (-2) will not occur.
<Skill explanation by game planners>
The enemy card in the next round after you play Anubis is subject to the skill effect. If you have the highest number, you will not be -2.
The goal is to reduce the number of 9s and 10s, but the most effective situation is when you are playing with two players. If the opponent’s number is 6 or higher, it will be the maximum number and can be reduced to -2.
Even if you and your opponent are both 6, you will not be -2, only your opponent will be -2. However, if you and your enemy are both Anubis, you will both receive a -2.
The best card to use is Achilles with the same number, so it is recommended to build your deck around 6.
<Illustration designer’s comments>
This was one of the first designs, and I personally think it gave the MCS character direction.
・Loki
<Rarity> Epic
<Number> 7
<Skill>
[This round] Add 2 (+2) if the number of the card played is less than the number of the card you played in the pre-round.
<Skill explanation by game planners>
If you play Loki with a number 8 or higher card in the pre-round, you will get +2.
The most compatible card is the number 10 Zeus, and it is recommended to play Zeus in the pre-round and Loki after that.
Also, if you have Loki and a number 9, and the enemy has a Banshee, you can play a number 9 in the pre-round to avoid the Banshee’s attack, then use Loki to get +2.
<Illustration designer’s comments>
This character is a bitter memory of mine, because I decided to put a ship on his head at the beginning, and it was very difficult to balance the whole character.
・Asura
<Rarity> Epic
<Number> 8
<Skill>
[This round] Add 1 (+1) if you hold the highest card.
<Skill explanation by game planners>
Unlike Tsukuyomi, which expects the number 9 to appear, Asura is a card that is used in hopes that the number 9 and 10 will not appear.
It may be difficult to get the maximum number if all four players are playing at once, but if there is only one enemy, you have a relatively good chance.
Be careful of Anubis and Leviathan.
<Illustration designer’s comments>
I had a hard time designing it. I love the statue of Buddha at Kofukuji Temple, so it just came to mind, and I guess I was influenced by it. lol
・Thor
<Rarity> Legendary
<Number> 9
<Skill>
[This round] If you played a card with the number 3 in the pre-round, Add 1 (+1) to the card played this round.
<Skill explanation by game planners>
It works well with Kraken. The theory is to use the Kraken to change the enemy’s Element for the next round, and then use Thor’s skill effect and the winning Element Boost to score big points.
However, if you play Kraken in the pre-round, it means that there is a high probability that you will play Thor in the next round, which may make you an easy target for Banshees.
<Illustration designer’s comments>
This is probably the first character I drew. When I look at it now, it’s a little simpler than the others, but I like it.
・Shiva
<Rarity> Legendary
<Number> 10
<Skill>
[Next Round] If two or more EVEN cards are drawn, Add 1 (+1) to the played card.
<Skill explanation by game planners>
In the next round, if there are two or more even cards among the cards you and your enemy play, you will meet the condition to activate the skill.
When the skill is activated, you get +1 to your own cards played in the next round.
You don’t necessarily have to play an even number in the next round; the skill will be activated even if two of your opponents play even numbers.
The flow of playing Zeus, another 10, in the pre-round and Shiva in round 1 is powerful.
<Illustration designer’s comments>
I wanted to draw a skull necklace, so I came up with this design. I hope it looks like an Indian god.
