Important Announcement for Those Selling on Gumroad
Why you may need to update your account today
I have been using Gumroad for a while now for selling some of my digital products. Even though most of my books are already on Amazon, Apple, Kobo and other digital stores, I was happy with the simplicity and ease of use when it comes to Gumroad. It also provided another option for my readers who may not want to use the other digital stores I cited.
In addition, I liked it that I can simply receive the earnings from my digital sales through PayPal. It was as simple as that.
It was a surprise when I received an email from Gumroad that they are no longer accepting PayPal as a payment method. Thus, I needed to update my account so that I can provide another means of receiving payment.
What I did what go to my Gumroad account directly. I did not click any link from my email to avoid any scam (which are very common these days). When I went to my dashboard, I was able to confirm that PayPal is no longer among the options available to receive payment there.
If you are also on Gumroad or are just about to start there, please take note of this important change. If you want to continue receiving payment from your product sales, you need to update your account as soon as you can.
