When you visit a browser on the internet or make a request to a web server, you normally receive a response code. Response codes can also be known as status codes and they are simply the result a search engine or website visitor receives when making a request to a web server. These status codes are the Internet equivalent of a conversation between your browser and the server. They communicate whether things between the two (browser and server) are perfect, or whether something is wrong. Usually, a three-digit HTTP Response Status Code is returned to notify the visitor/user about the status of the site.

In this case, we identify some of these codes indicating what is about to happen during a verification call on the Identitypass merchant’s dashboard. Here, you will learn about the possible response codes you may get during verification on Identitypass and what each of them means.

Identitypass API Response Codes And What They Represent.

Below are listed some of the most common response codes that you may receive while performing your KYC/KYB checks on the Identitypass merchants’ dashboard.

  • 00: Successful: This reveals that you’ve successfully verified the validity and authenticity of a data set on Identitypass. Usually, this means that you will get an accurate response about your verified data, either as authentic data or wrong data.
  • 01: ID not found: This simply means the ID you are trying to verify does not exist and cannot be found across any database. If you receive this response, you may need to cross-check the submitted ID for possible errors and try again.
  • 02: Service is not available: This indicates that a particular endpoint is unavailable or is currently down due to technical issues from service providers. Once you experience this issue, you can quickly reach out to our engineering team or try again after a few minutes when the service is back.
  • 03: Insufficient wallet balance: This simply indicates that you have low or no funds in your Identitypass wallet. A low wallet would prevent you from successfully performing your verification calls. The solution to this is to fund your wallet using any of the wallet-funding options provided on your dashboard.

Other Important Types of Response Codes and What they Represent:

Here’s a quick run of other forms of response codes that you may receive while visiting a browser or even trying to perform KYC checks on Identitypass.

Another category of response codes is grouped into 2XXs and they are called Successful responses. These includes:

The response codes containing 3XXs are called redirection codes. These codes redirect you to other sites for you to proceed with your request and they include:

The codes containing 4xxs are known as the “client error responses”. These response codes indicate errors coming from your end. Some of these codes include:

Finally, 5XX codes are server error codes. These codes indicate errors from the server you are trying to connect with. They include:

As you know that knowledge is power, so it is important that you know about response codes and what each stands for in every scenario. We hope you got some information from this article.
