It’s Really All About The Adventure.

Uncertainty is paralyzing.

You know what you want to do, at least in a global sense, but you have no idea how to do it. In a way, you really don’t know where you’re going.

So you sit. And dream. And wait.

And DO nothing.

Perhaps you research, but it’s too risky to act until you know precisely how to get where you are going. It’s too important.

The Results?

Chances never taken, blog posts…books never written, people never met, trips never taken, degrees never earned, knowledge never learned, jobs we only dream about, and the perfect pair of designer, black, chunky heels left behind on the shelf.

No good can come of this.

The reality is that none of us really know how to get where we are going — exactly which road to take — or even where we’re going to end up, but in order to get there…to get anywhere…we must choose a course of action.

As courses of action go, I have the most fun when I have absolutely no idea where I’ll end up, but follow that sparkling thing that leads me on an adventure.

It matters less which path we take (thankfully, because mine is nothing short of squiggly), but just that we take one, that we try, persevere…that we end up somewhere closer to our goal than we were before.

The alternative is sitting on your ass, in the same place you are right now. Static. Safe. A little sad.

Take a risk. Even when you think you have it all planned out, life pivots. You don’t know where you’re going. Enjoy whatever the adventure brings and learn along the way.

It doesn’t matter which road you take because nothing is certain and, if you’re savvy and play your cards right, you just might have a fabulous new pair of shoes to sport on your journey!
