Some dramas have beautiful storylines, outstanding cast, perfect execution with the right dose of comedy, action and sometimes romance and still surprisingly enough don’t get as popular as you would expect. Everything is just perfect and yet they are not as well-known as you would have wanted. This is weird and in order to rectify this weirdness, I bring to you 5 of these hidden gems.

1. Prison Playbook

With a bit of everything good, the 2018 16-episode drama follows the journey of the hardworking baseball pitcher when he suddenly finds himself behind bars for trying to protect his sister. Unsure of himself in this whole new world, Kim Je-hyuk gains the support of some new friends in the light of his new enemies. The award winning yet strangely unpopular drama should be on everyone’s list as they share his joys and pains, sacrifices and triumphs.

2. Kairos

Kim Seo-jin’s unbelievable urge to save his family connects him to Ae-ri who lives a month in the past. The 2020 16-episode drama follows the journey of Seo-jin and Ae-ri to save their loved ones. One with a will to undo past actions and the other with a will to prevent terrible future consequences.

The well-executed amazing story with perfect cinematography should be getting more love than it is.

3. Miss Hammurabi

The 2018 16-episode legal drama examines the lives of an integral part of the legal system, the judges. It takes a look at the journeys of a very eccentric rookie judge, a straight by the book rookie judge and an experienced judge who has the burden of guiding them as they muddle their way through the various cases they have to preside over.

It’s the law with a lot of legal terms being thrown around and still it manages to be fun.

4. Hi, Bye mama

When you hear there is nothing as strong as the love of a mother, you have to believe it. Separated forever from her unborn child and husband by a car accident, Cha Yuri has been around her family as a ghost for 5 years until she gets a second chance at life. The chance forces her to make a choice between her child’s fate forever and her living happily with her family.

This 16-episode 2020 drama just has tears streaming down your face and it is just as heartwarming as it is sad.

5. On the way to the airport

This 16-episode 2016 award winning drama always leaves me fuzzy, the good kind. All the events go smoothly until you realize that they shouldn’t. Everything is justified until you figure that it is kind of wrong. There are no completely bad guys (Okay; maybe except one) and even your good guys have their faults. It’s not your typical white and black kind of drama. there is a lot of grey here and despite that it still manages to be heartwarming and funny.

There are a lot of these hidden gems, some of which I believe I haven’t seen myself but if the ones on this list are on your list of to see but not yet seen, then you should definitely see them.

Thank you
