Seattle. I know very little about this place. I do know it is a hub of technology in the northwest of the United States. I knew that it was a place I may end up. It is a place I always thought I would love, so it was always on my list of locations to search for jobs. It turns out Seattle will be my new home. The first place I will have moved to that is not in my home state of New Mexico. Moving to a new city is an interesting topic all on its own, but it will not be the topic of this article.

I have recently graduated from the University of New Mexico and have been looking to start my career entirely over at the bottom of the Software Engineering path. It is tough to get a job with 0 years of experience, and rightfully so. A company needs to take a risk on you. You need to prove that you are worth the risk. Amazon was willing to take this risk on me. I recently accepted a job offer with them. The opportunity humbles me. Secretly I know they will not be disappointed.

I will talk about my experience landing a job. I entertained three companies up until the very end: Amazon, Peraton, and SpaceX. The job hunt took a lot of time and dedication, and I did not particularly enjoy it. I will go into my experience with each company and how I ended up with my decision.

This is a thought I think. What exactly is a thought I think. It must be what I am thinking. Creative writing, maybe poems, maybe art, and … maybe technology?
