Today, not only is WallpaperHub.app seeing in the new year but it is also seeing in a new set of features that welcomes Creators to the site.

The Creators’ Update (yes, I went there with the naming)

The Creators’ Update allows for you to have your own work showcased on the site (if you want) and it will make it easier for you to find more of the wallpapers you like.

A new carousel on the WallpaperHub homepage

First, you notice a new carousel on the homepage that shows the Creators on the site, clicking on a Creator’s avatar will take you to that their page.

The new Creator page showcasing someone’s wallpapers

On a Creator’s page you can see all their wallpapers and find out more about them.

Wallpapers now show their Creator

Across the site you will now see the Creator of each wallpaper and in some places links to that person’s page.

Thanks to Scott and Amit for being the first Creators on the site! Keep an eye for more of their work appearing on the site in the coming days and weeks.

Become a Creator

If you want to have your own creations on the site then please let me know (ideally on Twitter), it’s currently an informal process but I am looking to set up something more structured in the coming weeks. In terms of how new wallpapers will be added to the site I will curate them all and add them myself. I am looking for the creations to be 4500x3000 so that they look great on all the supported resolutions up to the Surface Studio. Images that are Microsoft related are ideal but wallpapers of all designs and types are welcome.

Obviously you will need to be happy with your images being freely available to anyone to download and ideally you won’t have watermarks on the wallpapers.

I am keen to get all kinds of creations on the site, one area in particular that is missing is digital ink wallpapers. I know there will be some awesome ink wallpapers out there that show off the power of Surface devices and digital pens so please do get in touch if you have anything you think would make a good wallpaper.

I am keen to know your thoughts on this new update to the site. Please do get in touch if you want to get your own creations on the site, or know of people who’s work would fit in.

Best of 2018

Looking back on 2018 now, WallpaperHub has been online for close to 6 months and I thought I would share with you the most popular wallpapers of the past few months:

Surface Hub 2 (Wave)
With over 160,000 downloads this was way out the most popular wallpaper on the site in 2018 and with how awesome the Surface Hub 2 is its clear to see that people are can’t wait to get their hands on it.

Surface Pro 6
The promotional wallpaper of the new Surface Pro 6 proved to be very popular over the last couple of months of 2018, racking up just under 50,000 downloads.

Surface Book
Not only was the promotional video for the Surface Book very popular but it turns out the wallpapers were too as this one made it to the 3rd most popular wallpaper last year with just over 38,000 downloads.

Surface Studio 2
Another new device of 2018, the Surface Studio 2, introduced another stunning wallpaper that was downloaded over 28,000 times in the few months since it was unveiled.

Windows Lite
For some the 5th most popular wallpaper on the site in 2018 might be a surprise as it is going to come with the next version of Windows anyway so people needn’t download it, but with just under 28,000 downloads clearly people can’t wait to have a light theme and wallpaper to go with it.

It just remains for me to say thank you all for a great 2018, without you being interested in the wallpapers I find and create then it wouldn’t be worth me putting in the effort into the site. I am blown away by how many downloads there have been of these wallpapers!

Thank you all and Happy New Year! Let’s make 2019 a brilliant one.

P.S. My New Year’s resolution is definitely 4500x3000.
