Blend your veges, easy way to eat 5 serves!

I don’t mean you need to freeze — I am talking about freezing your food!

I’ll tell you a quick trick of mine… prep some smoothies, and keep the ingredients in the freezer.

Freeze your favourite combinations in a zip-lock bag, chopped and ready to blend, and you’ll always have a quick and easy vegetable meal ready to go!

Choose your flavour

Whether that be berry, mango, kiwi, pineapple, banana or ANY fruit; choose your favourites and get chopping. Okay, so you don’t have to chop the berries, but prepping your favourite flavours in advance will help inspire you get creative with your base.

Choose your base

The base is what mixes your choice of fruit together, and keeps it smooth (and possibly creamy!) — some classic examples would be milk, yogurt , juice or even tea if you’re feeling super creative.

I choose a low fat, lactose free coconut milk, but you could pick whatever you like. Almond milk is a great health alternative — but you can even choose just water and ice. Whatever keeps your taste buds wanting more.

Choose your veggie

The most important part of all is choosing your vegetables. My favourite go to is spinach as you can blend it in and can’t taste it at all, but there are so many options.

Kale, beetroot, carrots, celery; technically not a vegetable, but avocado and tomato do make excellent additions too.

Get creative and stay on track! It is as easy as chop, snap lock and freeze. No excuses for when you’re short on time, just blend up the pre-chopped ingredients and you’re on your way to a healthier you.
