How To Stay Healthy This Spring

Spring is my favourite season.

The sun finally comes out, the birds sing and the flowers are in full bloom, I just love how it makes me feel (and thankfully, I don’t suffer from hay-fever).

But is also a time where we may get a rough wake up call about our Winter habits.

You know, that feeling that we didn’t work hard enough over the colder months, we slacked off and perhaps let ourselves and our goals leave us for a while?

I am here to give you a few tips to help you get back on track, but to also set you up for success over Summer.

The warmer months should not be about quick fixes or crash diets.

You want to create sustainable habits, and try to pick up where you left off before you hibernated for the Winter.

Try to implement these small changes to get yourself back on the health bandwagon this Spring.

Spring Health Tip #1: Drink your water

My number one suggestion for you to turn your health around, is water.

That’s right! It is as simple as drinking water.

Dehydration never helped anyone. Dehydration means you can’t work as hard, you wont run as far, you won’t recover as quickly and you’ll probably be sluggish (and many more things, water is gold!).

One more time, say it with me — drink more water!

Spring Health Tip #2: Exercise more

Yes, exercise MORE.

I know you probably hear tips on getting back into it followed by “take it slow”, but there is a time and place for that.

When you’re trying to make good habits your habits, you need to keep it up! You don’t have to be crazy, no marathons or anything, but walk everyday.

Do SOMETHING, no matter how small, just do it consistently. I love the idea of pilates or yoga, or home workouts, and walking outside with friends at lunch. The more you try, the easier it will get!

Spring Health Tip #3: Fresh food — eat it, embrace it

Oh yeaaaaaah, fresh food!

You know fruits, vegetables, colourful deliciousness?
