We aren’t all blessed with a love for the gym.

I know, I hear it a lot — I understand my passion is somewhat of a lucky one, in that it keeps me active everyday. But if you’re not like me and don’t have a serious passion for what’s indoors, then don’t fear!

Stop trying to convince yourself you will enjoy the indoor gym experience, when deep down, you truly don’t.

You will let yourself down again and again, and that’s worse. You don’t want to be feeling bad and disappointed in yourself, for something you don’t even like.

Get yourself outside and see if you can’t spark some new passion.

Muscles are fat burning machines, but you don’t need gym equipment to build them or USE them. Activating your larger muscle groups will get your heart rate up super fast, and bring you the biggest benefit to a workout without stepping foot inside a gym.

Try this sequence outside to spark your love for being active again.

I promise you don’t need to know anything about the gym, and you’ll finish feeling satisfied you did it.

  • 20 seconds of body weight squats, rest for 10 seconds and REPEAT 8 times
  • 1 minute rest
  • 20 seconds of mountain climbers, rest for 10 seconds and REPEAT 8 times

Looks simple, right? That’s because it is! At the end of this you’ll feel like you have truly worked out.

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), like I have mentioned many times before, is a super effective way to keep your heart rate up but allow for just enough rest to keep you moving.

You don’t need anything fancy at all to feel fit and to be your best self. All it takes is YOU, and finding what works for your interests. Getting outside might just help your goals — you really never know until you try.

Instead of going back to the gym time and time again, try something more realistic for yourself.

Gym equipment does not automatically equal fitness.
