Progressive/Doom Band — Katatonia
My all time favorite band, they have never let me down.
Katatonia is without any doubts my favorite band of all times, this is a very personal thought and not everyone will agree, but this is one of a kind band that renews itself constantly over the years, they have been more than 20 years out there and achieving a new and fresh album every release is not something easy.
At some point in time their albums start going deeper and deeper into progressive composition, what makes this band so special is how seamless those tempos feel. Beside this, they are an icon for doom/depressive songs.
This is one of those band very hard to describe and since is so special for me I’ll leave a highlighted song from 6 albums they have made, which is already a very hard task for me. I am sure it will help describe a lot better the band, I’ll also mark the special ones in case you have no plan to hear 6 songs.
