The Beauty of Music
How music affects me + playlists included

I absolutely love music. One of the first questions I ask someone I’ve met for the first time is what kind of music they’re into. I was at a bar talking to a guy one time and we seemed to be enjoying eachother’s company at first. I think I asked him what his favourite song was and he said he doesn’t listen to music and hadn’t for a very long time. I have no idea why this shocked me so much or why it would affect the way I felt towards the guy — but it did. It’s one thing to have different taste in music but to not listen to music at all? He’s missing out on so much beauty! I know everyone is into different things and everyone is unique and this may be judgemental on my part but I just assume someone who doesn’t like music isn’t as fun and carefree.
I love to enjoy my life to its full potential. And music is a big part of that. I live and breathe it. I whistle, hum and sing in the shower, I need to listen to music when I’m cooking or on my way to work — It’s the reason I enjoy the commute so much. If I were to end up with this guy, how boring would our car rides be? There’s only so much that can be said in words. Seriously, who would sing along with me to the car radio whilst we pick up our kids from school?
It’s weird to know that there are people out there who don’t enjoy listening to music and that to me is a very strange concept, their soul cannot be absolutely free until they feel that feeling of absolute bliss when they find a song that moves them for the very first time.
I like to have different playlists for different things. For festivals, getting ready, Sunday mornings, long car-rides, sex, winding down, baths… The categories go on. My taste in music varies and I enjoy a wide range of genres. I really want to share a different playlist on here every week so you can have a tiny glimpse into my life through the music I listen to.
