The New Medium Logo Ignores Light

If I’ve learned one thing in design school it’s that light comes from the top-left. There are even academic research papers that confirm that humans presume light to come from the left.
Of course, this is nothing more than an axiom and an abstract logo doesn’t have to take a light source into account, but it made me wonder what the new Medium logo would look like if it did.
