There are platforms like Alignable in the market that connects business owners to exchange resources and knowledge with one another.

Townsquare is similar to Alignable, but instead of one-on-one interactions, it connects groups of business owners at a local level in their neighborhood through networking events.

In addition, there are local government and non-profit organizations that offer free opportunities to learn new skills and networking events to business owners.

None of these available resources are empowering businesses to work together to solve their challenges.

For this reason, I also comparing my service with design thinking toolkits, like IDEO’s, which although empowers people to solve their challenges, its target audience is designers, who already understand the design thinking framework.

Local Biz Collective toolkit is designed taking into consideration the time constraints and challenges of small business owners in gentrified neighborhoods and empowers them to solve their challenges.
