The way in which trauma informs our psychological reactions and impacts an entire society should be a current cause of great concern. With an opioid epidemic and a recent U.S. Gallup poll indicating that clinical depression is accelerating like never before (reaching an all-time high of 29%), Americans are facing a serious health crisis.

Actually, across the board, all types of mental illness are ubiquitous and exponentially worse since the pandemic. In fact, a nationwide survey conducted on behalf of the American Psychological Association (APA) confirmed that a collective state of post-traumatic stress is infiltrating society. These egregious findings are not limited to the Western world, as evidenced by alarming statistics provided by the World Health Organization.
