Faking a Relationship Is Easier for Men Than Women

It’s more draining for women.

My mother always taught me that every woman possesses the skills of a private detective and the intuition that can be felt in the pit of her stomach. But do you know what I find funny?

Men can do some dirt and will assume that because they are up to no good that their significant other is playing an eye for an eye. But women don’t always desire revenge. Sometimes we simply stop giving a damn because we have become numb to the pain.

I was 23. My ex had visited my hometown to visit me — against my wishes. But that’s another story.

But he visited for two weeks — probably the worst two weeks of my life. Why?

1. I didn’t want him to come because I had to work. Plus, I was ashamed of him
2. He didn’t want to meet my mother even though we had claimed to be in a relationship for three years
3. I had nowhere for him to stay because it was not a planned trip.
4. My family thought the worse of me because they thought I was lying and being sneaky about my relationship
