From the beginning I find myself disliking Johnny and Ballin! That is not just because they are scummy privileged white men from the forties- Although that factor does not make their case any better.

Some might have found their confidence and determination to be sexy or amusing. I only found their behaviour to be a perfect example of how men can act when they find themselves in positions of power; financially, physically, etc.

Though Johnny may seem calculated and confident, deep down he is an angry little man with a smug side swoop hair cut and burn in his eyes- heartless and possessive.

I’m certain that if these men were without class and high expression, we would have all thought the same thing. Gilda finds…
