The Gospel's message does not rely on your performance

I wasted a lifetime feeling like shit because I didn't think I was good enough for God. My family suffered right along with me. I didn’t know I was a new creation. You do know.

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2Cor.5:17 *You USED to be a sinner — that life IS non-existent. It isn’t coming back either.

The Gospel is about what Jesus did. Aren't you tired of feeling like crap?

Oops, I did it again. That must prove I'm still a sinner. When we fail at something, we have this excellent excuse and don't feel so guilty for living by a lie. I'm just a sinner but saved by grace through faith. Ephesians 2:8

Unbelief is not faith. The just shall live by faith. Just stop focusing on what you did or didn't do and focus on what Jesus did for you by grace. The work of God is to believe Him.

Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.” John 6:29(NLT) Jesus paid it ALL.

Our common sense, feelings, and devilish demons may say something is wrong with us. Seeing that the devil is the father of lies, I don't think it is good for us to act as if we believe him.

We still have lots of lies built up in our bodies and brains. They are not who we are. Our spirits are us, and we have bodies and minds/souls.

I still make excuses to feel better about why I make mistakes. I'm just stupid, and you can only expect me to get a little correct. I feel better at the moment, but I'm still a prisoner of the lie I told. I didn't accomplish any of the goals I wanted.

Excuses stick! But, I'm a Christian — the righteousness of God. I want to stop exchanging the truth for lies! *I will talk to Dad about everything.

I'm not the most intelligent person, but I'll get done and do what God wants. We'll do it together. He is never mad at me.

There could be consequences for our slips and sins. They are natural, not from Dad. Whatever happens to us — Dad will be with us and work it out for good.

Regarding our behaviors, it takes time to grow new behavior highways in our brains. We'll be on this earth for a while longer. We will get to our destination. The very core of our being is in Christ. Perfect. God Loves us, Always. We won't be perfect in our behavior, but at our core, we are.

Our behaviors do not make us sinners or saints. We're not what we do. Imagine a 3-year-old watching a dog run around in the yard, barking, jumping, and chasing. Then the kid starts acting like a dog. Is that a child, a dog, or a child acting like a dog?

Christians are (also) receivers and transmitters. We were made to uniquely image and reflect what we see in and from God. That's why God tells us to look to things above. That is how we will then behave. (more and more) Sinners are separated from God and don't have that privilege.

If you need wisdom from God, ask. Talk to Dad. If you're thinking evil thoughts about Dad-tell Him. He loves you.
