Singularity and Grammar Constructs

It is interesting when you think of grammar constructs like singular and plural in terms of units. 1 meter is singular and 100 centimeters is not. These are the things that are both of them at the same time depending on how you express them.

The fault lies because of the obvious reason: The whole counting thing was developed for ‘things’, things that are countable not for our measurements. We merrily adopted that in our lingo.

No wonder Physicists get crazy when they hear of Singularity!
